For this project I created a landscape using acrylic paint. I used a blending technique in this painting to blend the colors in the sky and water to give it a more natural look. I used lots of value as a technique in this project to create the different shades of green on the mountains. I feel that I improved as an artist doing this project because it taught me how to properly mix paints to create the right shades of colors for the landscape. It also taught me how to properly blend colors to create the sunset and to create the water.

Our goal was to create a piece of art that represented us as people. In my drawing i wanted to try and use a material I was not familiar with which was calk. My family ancestry is that my grandparents are polish which makes me polish. So i decided to do a drawing that represents poland. The tree represents the national Bialowieża forest in poland and the buffalo represents the wild buffalo that live in the forest. The flag is Poland's flag.
Our goal in this project was to re-create an old drawing or painting we made and see how much we have improved over time. In this challenge I re-created my painting of the mountain landscape with a sunset. I decided to re-create this project because in the original I feel that i did not make the image very 3-D and that I added little detail. In my re-create I tried to aim for a more 3-D look and I tired to add more detail. The right image is the original and the left picture is the re-create.
The assignment in our class was to make an architectural layout of a Jack and Jill bedroom. The elements of design used in this project were beds, nightstands, desk table, cabinets, chairs, and lamps. I used the Jack and Jill layout. I used a Triadic color scheme for the bedrooms. I would say the hardest part of this project was to set up the room with 2 bedrooms with a shared bathroom. The easiest part of this project was to find and place the furnishings and appliances. What i would do differently is fill up more space in the bedroom or make the colors in the rooms brighter. Image below.
The assignment was to create an L-shaped, Corridor, U-shaped, and Island kitchen on an online website. The elements of design that I used was cabinets, refrigerators, sinks, wall cabinets, tables, chairs, rugs, accessories, and a range. I used the U-shaped, L-shaped, Corridor, and Island kitchen layouts. I used a Triad, split complementary, and Neutral color schemes. I think the hardest part of this project was finding the correct furniture and appliances and getting the rooms in their proper layout. I would say the easiest part of this project was creating the rooms and placing the windows and doors. What I would do differently for some of the rooms is to make more or less space in some of the kitchens. The pictures below show the four layouts of the 4 kitchens.
Our goal in our classroom was to make art with something that we needed to practice more with. The thing that I needed more practice with is painting. I decided to try and painting a forest. I would say the hardest part of the this project was to mix the colors to match with the other colors. I think the easiest part of the project was to paint the trees. The painting took me about a week and a half to finish. The first painting you see is a painting of space that I (tried to) paint a while back and the picture below that is the forest that I recently painted. this is to show the progress I have made in painting.
The assignment that we did in class was to make origami paper houses with the different types of roofs. The elements of design that are represented in this project is the hip, gable, gambler, mansard, dormer, and shed roofs. The principles of design we used were that we hung the paper houses on yarn attached to a coat hanger. We used a double-complementary color harmony. I think the hardest part of this project was making the roofs of the houses and fitting them onto the houses themselves. The easiest part of this project was making the bases of the house and hot gluing the houses onto the yarn. Things I would do differently with this project is to make the roofs bigger and use less tape on the houses.
The assignment in my class was to make a dollhouse dinning room from a cardboard box provided by our teacher. Some elements of design presented in our project are fabric, wallpaper, hot glue sticks, postictal sticks, and cardboard. The principles of design that we used in our dollhouse were that we used popsicle sticks as the flooring, we used hot glue gun sticks as the legs for the chairs and tables, we used the fabric as the plants and window coverings, then we used the wallpaper as coverings for the tables, chairs, and walls. I learned in collage how to use rubber cement and I learned about how you can create different types of collages. One thing I want to improve on is adding more detail in my work.
The things I learned in the drawing session is value and how to draw value. Another thing that I learned is that it is very hard to draw value in colored pencil. The one thing I would like to improve on is shading and drawing value.
The things I learned about painting is how to paint in different ways/styles like how to paint gradient. Another thing I learned about is how to use and blend acrylic paint. I would like to improve on blending and putting more detail into my paintings with paint |
